Heavy Weight Drill Pipe

Gulf Engineering Services Ltd. offers three different types of Heavyweight Drill Pipe. They are designed to provide a gradual transition between drill pipe and drill collars. This helps to reduce the number of fatigue failures seen directly above the BHA. A secondary use of HWDP is to add additional weight to the drill bit. HWDP is most often used as weight on bit in deviated wells. HWDP can be also used for running and landing casing.

  1. Standard HWDP is suited for most applications including vertical, extended reach and horizontal wells.
  2. Tri-Spiral™ HWDP is suited for applications requiring additional hole-cleaning and buckling resistance.
  3. Spiral-Wate™ HWDP reduces differential sticking, minimizes wear and improves circulation in especially tough drilling environments.
